Northland offers three types of manufactured siding materials for your home: vinyl, engineered wood, and fiber cement, as well as brick veneer, and stone options.
Vinyl siding has proven to be the most popular siding choice in Minnesota. It is visual appealing, easy to upkeep and is the least expensive material. Engineered Wood Siding is an eco-friendly product that can be painted to your exact specifications and is lower in cost than traditional cedar. Fiber Cement Siding has a longer lifespan than vinyl and can be painted down the road if you decide to change color.
The most commonly installed type of exterior cladding for homes is vinyl siding. Vinyl siding is made primarily of PVC resin with added ingredients to increase durability, flexibility, impact resistance, and color saturation. It has the look of wood clapboard but is easy to maintain. Unlike wood siding, vinyl will never need to be painted. It is much easier to install and is much cheaper than wood.
Vinyl siding comes in a wide range of features, including: width, thickness, length, profile and texture, price, and color.
LP SmartSide engineered wood siding products feature wood strand technology that offers superior protection against weather, moisture, decay and pest. It is available in 16 prefinished colors. Choose one striking color for your main exterior, a complementary color as your accent color on gables, accent walls, and architectural details, and a contrasting trim color for an interesting combination.
LP SmartSide Lap Siding comes in 16 foot length pieces resulting in faster installation, fewer seams, and less waste. It comes with a 5/50-year limited warranty.
James Hardie fiber cement siding is over five times thicker than vinyl, making it a more elegant choice, particularly on a historic home. It is engineered to withstand moisture damage and hold its own in our drastically changing climate. James Hardie fiber cement siding resists the impact of hail and outperforms vinyl and wood siding when it comes to extreme climates like Minnesota and Wisconsin. Fiber cement siding is non-combustible and will not catch fire nor contribute to a house fire.
